X and/or Y carriage motor failure

Check/Repair

Unplug the sewing machine and check the wiring connections on the X and Y carriage motor and the A control board. Reconnect any loose wires. If the wires are okay, check the resistance of the carriage motors using a multi-meter. The carriage motor resistance should be 6 ohms or higher. If the multi-meter detects resistance of less than 6 ohms or an open circuit, replace the carriage motor. If both carriage motors are okay, replace the A control board.

Zigzag motor failure

Check/Repair

Unplug the sewing machine and check the wiring connections on the zigzag motor and the A control board. Reconnect any loose wires. If the wires are okay, check the resistance of the zigzag motor using a multi-meter. The zigzag motor resistance should be 6 ohms or higher. If the multi-meter detects resistance of less than 6 ohms or an open circuit, replace the zigzag motor. If the zigzag motor is okay, replace the A control board.

Feed motor failure

Check/Repair

Unplug the sewing machine and check the wiring connections on the feed motor and the A control board. Reconnect any loose wires. If the wires are okay, check the resistance of the feed motor using a multi-meter. The feed motor resistance should be 6 ohms or higher. If the multi-meter detects resistance of less than 6 ohms or an open circuit, replace the feed motor. If the feed motor is okay, replace the A control board.

Failure of the Y cable

Check/Repair

The Y cable carries the data signal from the reader/writer 19000 to the A control board. Unplug the sewing machine and reconnect the Y cable to control board A if the Y cable is disconnected. Check the Y cable for damage and replace it if necessary.
