Cleaning the dust bin on your Dyson handheld vacuum

Disconnect the vacuum from the charger. Make sure the trigger stays in the off position while cleaning the dust bin.

Push the red button by the dust bin once to open the dust bin base. Press the button a second time to release the dust bin from the body of the vacuum. Carefully remove the dust bin from the vacuum.

Clean the dust bin using a damp cloth. Don't use detergents, polishes or air fresheners to clean the dust bin. Don't clean the dust bin by washing it in the dishwasher.

Clean the cyclone shroud using the brush on the combination tool to remove dust and lint.

Allow the dust bin to completely dry then reassembly the dust bin on the vacuum.

• Battery charger. The battery charger recharges the battery inside the handheld vacuum to provide power the vacuum motor.
• Brush roller. The brush roller rotates to agitate the surface of upholstery and carpet to loosen dust and dirt for vacuuming.
• Pre-filter. The pre-filter traps dust and dirt from incoming air.
• Vacuum motor. The vacuum motor spins the fan that creates the vacuum to collect dust and dirt in the handheld vacuum.
