Tips on adjusting cutting depth on your Ryobi router
- Select and install the proper bit for the cut that you're making.
- Place the router on its base and position the base on the work piece.
- Open the depth adjustment locking lever and turn the depth adjustment ring until the bit just touches the work piece.
- Move the adjustable scale clockwise so that 0 on the scale is positioned exactly above the base pointer.
- Turn the depth adjustment ring along the adjustable scale to the desired depth.
- Close the depth adjustment locking lever.
Troubleshooting your Ryobi router when it won't power up
Check the electrical outlet to make sure it has power. If the electrical outlet is dead, reset the house circuit breaker for the outlet or use a different electrical outlet.
Check the power cord. Replace the power cord if it's frayed or cut.
Unplug the router and check the wiring. Reconnect any loose wires and repair any broken wires.
Check the power switch. Use a multimeter to measure continuity through the switch. If the meter measures not continuity through the switch with the switch in the on positions, replace the power switch.
Check the motor brushes. The motor won't run if the carbon motor brushes are worn down. Replace the carbon motor brushes if the brushes are worn down past their limit mark.
