These parts get brittle over time. I've had my bench forvover 12 years. The disk part had broken off when I accidentally hit it with a weight. I had to pry the remaining piece out of the tube with a screwdriver. After that, the new piece slid right in.

Expensive, but worth it

End cap on the leg extension...two soft taps with a closed fist. The other end cap broke off and I just tapped it into the mounting tube with a screwdriver.
