simple to install

Part was a simple replacement, Note: the packaging was horrible - I was afraid the part would be damaged, no protective wrapping at all. Box looked as if it was thrown around. Be careful removing screws (especially around burners) they rust from the heat and are fragile. you have to get to the screws under the backing to remove the casing and that required lifting the range top (which the burners are attached to) and sliding it forward just enough to get to those screws in the rear corners. the backing will not come off without removing them. you need to lift the backing to access the module connections properly

IT WORKS!
January 08, 2021

Old controller worked fine but the portions of the led readout (time/timer) had burned or shorted out. New controller is nice and bright. If you are a bit of a do-it-your-selfer this project will be okay to take on. A few screws to remove backside panel. The actual removal install of the controller had 4 screws and a few wire harnesses to plug in. Just remember where each wire attaches. Minor challenge to get at the 4 screws but you will figure it out. They are almost finger tight so getting a small socket or screwdriver onto each screw can be done without removing the top cover of the range control panel. If you are not a DIY, hire someone to do it. The replacement took 15 to 20 minutes. The whole job took 45 minutes because I ended up cleaning the back, sides, floor, cabinets and the entire oven really good. With the new controller I can read the time and timer easily. It's like a new oven!

Pretty straightforward

Carefully remember the relative positioning of the metal pieces behind the control panel for re-installing. I had to remove the stove top to get at some screws important to accessing the Oven Control Board.

Perfect fit, new features
December 04, 2019

The two other posts re. this product seem to be the extremes of the installation process. It took me about an hour, most of it was messing around trying to pull the rear panels off the stove to get access to the board. Once I did, there 6 or so connections to make. It's pretty hard to screw up, but I did it one at a time to make sure everything lined up. If you can't change your own oil, or you call AAA to fix a flat tire, then you'd better call a pro. If that type of work doesn't scare you, its a pretty straight forward process to swap out the part. It's great to have all the LED segments lit up again and the board works perfectly. One note, my old one didn't report the temp of the oven during warm up. This one does - when you set the temp, it drops to 101F, and stayed there for several seconds. I thought it was a problem, but once the oven fires up, it reports the increasing temp and then works great. Neat feature for impatient chefs wondering about oven temp.

NO HELP FROM SEARS PARTS DIRECT
April 10, 2018

Since I could not find any instructions in the part packaging, nor online ANYWHERE, on removing an existing surrounding part I needed to remove to install the new "Control Board", I had to improvise. I tried to call for help, but your customer service number was no help and told me to go to a Sears store. I had the correct model, and the correct part number, but your videos showed a view of a range that wasn't the same as mine. TERRIBLE experience....won't buy Sears again!
