  2. Broil element. The broil element is positioned at the top of the oven cavity and it heats foods in the broil mode.
  3. Oven temperature sensor. The oven temperature sensor detects temperature inside the oven cavity and sends temperature signals to the electronic control board.
  4. Electronic control board. The electronic control board controls oven functions such baking, broiling and cleaning.
  5. Relay control board. The relay control board receives signals from the main electronic oven control board and the relay control board operates relays to regulate the heating of the oven elements.

Replacing oven door hinges in your Maytag wall oven

  1. Fully open the oven door. Use a slot screwdriver to pry down the locking tabs to the unlocked position on both sides of the door. Raise the door to the broil stop position, which is about 1/4 open. Grip both sides of the oven door and then lift up and out to remove the door.
  2. Carefully place the oven door face down on a padded surface, such as a towel-covered table. Using the type of screwdriver that fits the screws, remove the screws that secure the door handle to the top of the oven door. Remove the handle.
  3. Remove the screws at the bottom of the oven door. Lift the inner door panel assembly off the outer door panel and set it on the padded surface.
  4. Remove the 2 screws on the inner oven door panel that secure each door hinge in place. Pull the hinges up and out of the inner door panel.
  5. Position the new door hinges in place in the inner door panel assembly. Insert the screws in the new door hinges and tighten the screws firmly.
  6. Reassemble the door and reinstall the door on the oven.
