Turn off power. Remove two wires, remove two 1/4 screws and old part. Replace part and two screws, then place wires back and replace door. Be sure vent is clean of lint before operating dryer.

Part arrived in a plastic envelope which had obviously been smashed, bending the prongs on the switch & warping the base. Sears shipped a second one after I called to explain the damage. Second one arrived same as the first, in a plastic envelope with prong bent. In both instances plastic envelope was torn/ripped, as was the part's plastic bag, by the prongs tearing through during shipment. Contacted Sears to ship the part a third time & stressed for customer service to include a note to ship third part in a box, not an envelope. Waiting on 3rd part at this time. Sears, please provide better quality control to reduce appliance down-time.

Most folks think it's usually the "guys" who repair appliances... but my dad was a mechanic for 50 yrs. and taught us girls as well as our brother to "fix" things. I just discovered Sears Parts Direct & LOVE them. This is the 2nd dryer I've restored back to working condition for less than $200. This thermostat is so simple & easy to replace, even a gal 62 yrs old can handle it with ease. Thanks Sears Parts Direct. :-)
