Part Information
Ice maker IM116000 includes the ice mold and the control device. The ice maker receives water from the water inlet valve and then holds the water in the ice mold until the water freezes solid. It then automatically ejects the ice and refills to continue the process until the ice storage bin is full.

Safely store any food that could deteriorate while the power is off and unplug the refrigerator when installing this part. Wear work gloves to protect your hands.

Purchase nightmares.
I ordered this on Nov 11, 2022. I was told today, Dec 7. 2022 hat it's no longer available. Then I was told it is the wrong ice maker for the fridge. It's also no longer available. The fridge is less that 2 years old in our possession. Bought new from Lowes. I hope the ice maker ordered today is the correct one. Hopefully, if this is the correct ice maker, the installation will go smoothly.

Bought the ice maker...
Bought the ice maker in May when I purchased a new refrigerator. The ice maker was installed by the the technician where it was purchased. The ice maker seemed to work fine for a few months. It has now stopped working. Should have worked more than 7 months.

Ice Maker
It takes forever to make Ice. For a Zero Degree Freezer. It is a piece of crap in my opinion. Would never purchase another. Very poor design also

Universal Top Mount Refrigerator Ice Maker Kit
It was a little slow making ice out of the gate. That picked up fine but the issue is that there seems to be a little water getting into the tray and forming an iceberg in the back of the tray that needs to be removed every few days. What causes this?

Got it in and it is producing ice
It took two of us about an hour to get it installed. We watched a video on installation as well as had the printed directions and for the most part it was not difficult. The unit fit well in the refrigerator. The water supply to the ice maker inside has a notch that locks it in place that was hard to see. The water control valve at the bottom took some time and guess work. All in all it was exactly what I needed and we now have ice.

The steps were complete and easy to understand. All the connections were just where the were explained to be. Instillation was fast and easy and ice flowing now.

Ice Maker for In-laws
I found out my mother in-law did not have an ice maker in December 2020. I ordered a kit in December and I opened it up and discovered it was wrong. Sent it back and ordered another one. This kit was closer, but still did not work. The third kit was plug and play it only took 30 minutes to remove the second wrong ice maker and install the correct one. Each time I was on chat with people that wanted to help me with my problem. The only negative experience was that it took 3 tries to get the correct ice maker kit. This was not a typical order the fridge never had one on it from the factory so this was a new install. I have been buying parts from Sears Parts Direct for years and will recommend them to anyone that needs parts for their appliances. They have the parts for anything you have in your home. Thanks for being there when I need parts.
