2015 ProSeries deck belt

Belt fits my craftsman 2015 pro series garden tractor. Lowered deck losen idler pully moving spring arm back and forth. Belt turns blades as grass gets ejected away.

Replaced mower blade drive belt, a cautionary tale

Other than costing nearly $60 (not the specific price) plus shipping and then having to wait an extra week after they said it would arrive (early June, not a holiday or busy season), this was a good purchase. The first belt I tried, I got directly from the Sears location I bought my tractor at, and the label said it would fit all 46" Craftsman tractor mower decks. I have the 24720442 ProSeries TurnTight Extreme 46" deck, which has worked great for mowing and plowing snow for the last 4 years, though with 2.5 acres I wish I got the 54" instead. It was a grueling process for me to get that first belt installed onto the deck. My tractor's manual was unclear about removing the deck belt guards so it was a bit frustrating (one small line on the previous page about it). I do like that this site had a video on this site for DIYers, but it did not have the same mower deck I do (no belt guards that covered as much). I got as far as reattaching the deck to the tractor, but found out that the belt would not reach the PTO pulley--it was short by several inches. At that point I decided to measure my old belt that had snapped, and found that the two did not match at all, not even close. Turns out I had purchased a tractor GROUND drive belt and not the mower deck belt, despite what the packaging had said. Sears did let me return it though because I had kept the receipt. Fortunately, I was able to find the correct belt I needed on searspartsdirect.com and once it did arrive, it only took me about 15 minutes to install (TIP: use a drill and socket bits to save time if you can), since I had already wasted time learning how to do it with the wrong belt. I was back to mowing in no time after that, as my lawn was in great need of cutting after a couple weeks of not being able to mow. Overall I am very satisfied with this product, I just wish it didn't take me so long to figure out which part I actually needed (TIP: measure your old belt first).
