Range oven temperature sensor 316490001 is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) part that fits some Kenmore 790-series gas, electric and dual-fuel ranges; it also fits some Frigidaire and Electrolux gas, electric and dual-fuel ranges.
Oven temperature sensor 316490001 measures the oven temperature.
Replaces part numbers 316217001, 316217003 and 316134901. The oven sensor wire connector may be different; if so, cut and splice the sensor wire with the wire harness using porcelain wire connectors.

Part needs modification to install
This part does not fit my Kenmore Gas Range and needed to be spliced with the old connector to make it work. A simple task made difficult because the replacement part connector does not fit. After three years of this complaint I would think it should have been corrected by now.

Easy to install
It did not fix my stove. I had to buy a new stove after I installed the new part. Was disappointed that I purchased the new part and i wound up buying a new stove anyway.

Didn't work!
It wasn't easy to install. It didn't fit and we had to splice it to get it to work. It didn't fix the problem and we had to buy a new stove.

Hard to find connectors small enough to securely f
A bit of a pain, as it's hard to find connectors small enough for the small wiring. Had to change the plug in. Installed, the range has the same issue as before. Inaccurate temperature.

It took 6 weeks to receive the probe. Lousy.
When it finally came it was ok to install. But it did not work.

NOT an Exact replacement part!
Replacement part was not an exact match and I had to cut off the connector and then cut the connector off my old one and then splice it together, so as far as I'm concerned it is now rigged to work, so is not a new or proper replacement part. If the manufacturer is gonna replace a part with a generic part then they should include adapters with the part so the replacement part fits all models it is replacing. It is bogus that we have to Jury rig it to work properly.

Good price, got here early. In addition they told up front I might have to change the plug on so I was prepared and, indeed, the plug had to be changed.
