It costs more than I thought it would but there are not many parts to this freezer so I was able to diagnose it myself. It was easy to remove and replace the control pad.

Very easy to install.
Used a putty knife to remove the original control assembly, the new replacement fit right in and that's all there was too it. Works great.

backorder
If you don't mind tying up your money go ahead and order from Sears Parts Direct. This product was ordered in middle March. When I ordered it they said there was 5 in stock. This product was ordered in late March. When I ordered it they said there was 5 in stock. Deliver was supposed to be by April 2nd. After that date passed I looked at my order and it is on backorder. That didn't really bother me to much, inconvenient yes but ok. The thing that made me mad was they charged my credit card right away. When I called to complain they were going to send my information to another department and they were supposed to get in touch with me. Never got a call. I then periodically got emails telling me the part was still on backorders all saying they were not sure when it would be available. Finally after 2 months I got my part. In the meantime they had my money for 2 months. Not right! Should not charge credit card until order is ready to be shipped.
