Recoil starter spring 545008015 retracts the starter rope into the starter assembly.
Disconnect the spark plug and let the engine cool before starting the repair. Wear work gloves to protect your hands during the repair.

Absolute nightmare to install. The spring coil unleashes and it take forever to coil it back up.

Beware. Don't install without instructions
When I purchased replacement spring by telephone, I was told easy to follow instructions would come with the part. There were no instructions in box. I tried to install spring and it rapidly came unwound. After an hour of attempting to rewind it, I gave up. I will buy a new chain saw rather than attempting to get it repaired. It's an old saw and I will not spend more money to repair it.'
