I ended up returning the igniter. Replacing one on my Kenmore dryer appears impossible without removing the drum, etc. Not a quick project. But I appreciate SPD's return policies and procedures.

Had to replace the igniter on a used dryer that I bought. I think the old one probably broke during transit. Installation was a little tricky only because the mounting screw was in a tight spot. I got it installed and she fired right up. My wife wasn't very happy. I think she was beginning to enjoy the time off from doing laundry.

Took me about 30 minutes in total to replace the Burner Igniter. Three parts easy to remove. Top part, front control panel and window panel. Easy to put back together.

Igniters are not easy to install

We had sears come out and diagnose the problem. That cost us $89.00. They said it was the igniter and it would cost $258.00 for them to install it so I ordered the part and my husband installed it. He used to work for a propane gas company so he knew what he was doing. The machine still didn't heat. So I went out and bought a new dryer rather than sink more money into a 10.5 year old dryer.

time communing to install, caution is needed the part is fragile, going into a tight area to install. on a side note: instruction on the LP change out need include a caution when removing the veturi tubing not to contact the igniter.
