Accessing the failed part required taking off the outer cover, which was held on with Torx screws (TX-20) and clipped tightly onto the oven front. The biggest challenge, however, was to disconnect the wiring. Dimples in the connectors made it very difficult to unhook the wires from the microswitches. Perhaps there is some tool that would have helped, but I do not own such a thing. Brute force did the trick, but the attachment of the wires to the new switch may be less secure as a result.

Kenmore microwave. Big one. Fixed it for $25 dollars + shipping. New one would of been around $200 dollars. Ready for another 10 years.

Installation of the door latch switch assembly.

The problem was the microwave wouldn't stay running when door would close. If you push the button just a little the microwave would run, sometimes. I took the cover off, inspected and test the switches using DVOM. And discover that the lower switch was bad. Order the part I needed, upon arrival I install it and yeehaw, it's working great.

Put my microwave back on line

The lower door switch gave out causing the microwave turntable, fan, and light to be on when the door was open. I replaced the micro-switch assembly and had planned to replace the wiring harness since the connectors to the switch had heat damage but the harness was not an exact match. I was able to use use the connectors on the new harness to replace the bad connectors on the existing harness. The rest of the new harness was discarded.

It took a long time , no instructions no videos and after you took the whole cover off the microwave I put the part in it still doesn't open the door you have to use two hands push the button with one hand pull the door open with the other
