Definitely addressed the problem of too much water flow into the ice maker. Installation is straight forward - only tricky piece is making sure the water supply line goes on smoothly and without leaks. Take your time so as not to strip the threads on the Water Inlet Valve. i only wish I had replaced this first instead of the ice maker, may have saved some time and money.
