Refrigerator ice maker assembly W10882923 is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) part that fits some bottom-freezer refrigerators in these series: Kenmore 596; Amana AFI; Whirlpool GI6, G, WRF and WRX; Jenn-Air JFX; KitchenAid KFIS and KFX; Maytag MFI and MFX.
Ice maker assembly W10882923 receives water from the water inlet, holds the water in the ice mold until the water freezes solid and then automatically ejects the ice and refills to continue the process until the ice storage in is full.
This ice maker assembly includes 2 module covers, 2 wire harnesses, 1 ice maker and 1 shut-off arm.
Replaces original bottom-freezer refrigerator ice maker assembly parts W10377151 and WPW10377151.

Installation
It took me about a couple hours to install. I found a really good video on youtube watched it, and took pictures. The wiring harness was a bit tricky at times but it all worked out very well.

medium ease of installation
Took less than an hour to install, fairly straightforward. Had to partly disassemble existing icemaker unit and route new cabling for this assembly. (which comes as part of this icemaker assembly, and contains a couple of fuzes and sensors that may be the source of any problems. I was hoping not to use new cabling for easier installation, but the new icemaker had slightly different connector than the old one (matching the cabling it came with, and the cableing matched the refridgeator connector fine as well.)

This is the 4th ice maker in 5 years
There's something wrong here. My Whirlpool refrigerator is 7 years old and this is the 4th ice maker I've installed in the last 5 years. The previous one (same make/model) lasted 3 months before eating the thin metal bar that is supposed to shut it off when the bin fills. The fact that the latest one was on back order for over a month (and out of stock most other places) tells you that the failure rate is through the roof. They also changed the wiring harness at some point so now you have to completely remove the entire ice making component from the fridge and install the new harness. After installing this latest one it wasn't 24 hours before the metal bar had fallen into the ice tray. I ended up taking a small zip tie and wrapping it around the bar at one end so that it couldn't work itself free and fall out again. Although the bar moves smoothly it still doesn't shut the ice maker off when the tray fills. It continues to make ice and I have to empty it daily. Poor design poor execution. The only positive thing I have to say is that Sears Parts Direct was a pleasure to work with. They stood by their 365 day guarantee and replaced this junk for free.

It works
The electrical connections were different so it took several hours to install. But my husband has experience in home improvement so he was able to figure it out. It took several months to get the part but it was worth the wait because now my refridge is making ice!!!

Perfect Part. Easy to install. Great result.
This was easy to install. It took about 60 mins but I am super cautious and I took my time. Next time would be 30 mins. The hardest task was choosing the correct part as the replacement parts have changed over time. The website and online resources were helpful. The key issue is getting the correct cables and connectors. This kit contained multiple versions of cables Including the one I needed as well as the ice maker.

Sears did well. Good unit.
Received the part a day earlier than expected. It contained the correct ice maker unit and two wire harnesses of which I needed one of them to adapt to this particular unit. Took a little longer than expected to put in as I needed to remove the other wire harness, but it was easy to figure out and it now works! Tried another vendor who took my order and never sent me the unit after over 1 month of waiting. Sears did well.

Part is good. Instructions not so much. Doable.
Worked fine. Easy install but the instructions are poor. Just watch a few YouTube videos if you have to swap the wire harness. If not then it's really easy.
