Damaged item and packaging

I called customer service to report the damaged item and packaging. I couldn't wait for replacement so I asked for refund. And the agent said I would get full $20.20 refund even if I have received $20 worth of reward points from this purchase because of the trouble I went through. I thank them for the understanding and generosity. Then I received only 20 cents. I could have replacement for 20cents if they told me what would really happen from beginning. I have not had any luck with sears purchase. Is it only me?
