Reviews

I have to buy this product again and again
August 07, 2023

I have lost track how many times I have replaced this product in my dryer (6+ times). Nothing in the GE dryer has ever broken except this and each one seems to last about 18 months on average.

A part designed to fail?
November 30, 2021

I'm not a mechanical engineer, but I think that this part could be made to last longer. I've had to replace this same part in the same location of the dryer twice--every 3.5 years. The issue seems to be that the bushing (see picture) is made of very soft metal that degrades over time and eventually wears so big that the shaft begins to wobble. Perhaps a soft metal is used for automatic lubrication? I'm not sure, but I would pay more for a single part to avoid having to open up the washer ever few years. It takes about an hour to open it up and close it and I had to do this twice (first for diagnosis, second to replace the part).
