I had my repair man install it. My refrigerator freezer floor had been forming ice on it so after he removed the plastic floor of the freezer he had to use his blow dryer to finish defrosting the ice off of the styrofoam floor so he could remove the styrofoam and the broken defrost heater coil which is inside a long glass tube from the floor of the freezer. That was the time consuming part, melting the frozen frost. Everything else was easy and quick. for him. He replaced the timer, the thermostat, and the defrost heating coil. If I would have unplugged the refrigerator for a few days before he came to repair it, it all would have been melted on its own.
