Remove the console
Unplug the washing machine and move it forward to access the back of the control console.
Follow these steps to remove the console:
Remove the 2 Phillips-head mounting screws from the back of the console.
Rotate the console forward to gain access to the console clips.
Loosen the console clips and turn the console down to access the components.
Disconnect the wire harness plugs from the console components. Disconnect the air hose from the water level pressure switch.
Disconnect the grounding wire that’s attached to the top washer panel with a screw.
You can completely remove the console after disconnecting wiring harness plugs, water level switch air hose and the grounding wire. Completely removing the console makes it easier to replace parts.
Note: Be sure to reconnect the grounding wire to the top washer panel when reassembling the console.
Remove the timer
To remove the timer knob, push in on the center of the knob and pull the knob retainer out from the back of the timer to release the timer knob. Pull the timer knob off the front of the console.
To remove the timer skirt, use a short piece of fabric or monofilament line to pull the skirt off the front of the console.

Slide the timer sideward and remove it from the console.
Disconnect the timer wire harness plug.
Timer installation notes

Push the timer knob onto the timer shaft then press the retainer on the back of the timer body in to lock the knob in place.
