Common replacement parts for Delta tool sharpeners

  • Grinding wheel. The grinding wheel spin on its drive shaft on the tool sharpener to allow you sharpen tool edges by holding the tool edge against the grinding wheel as it spins.
  • On/off switch. The on/off switch sends electric current to the drive motor when you turn the switch on and shuts off current to the motor when you turn the switch off.
  • Drive motor. The drive motor spins the grinding wheel drive shaft to rotate the grinding wheel.
  • Power cord. The power cord supplies the tool sharpener with electrical current from the wall outlet to run the drive motor when you turn on the on/off switch.

How to sharpen tools using your Delta tool sharpener

  • Clean the tools that you'll be sharpening before you use the tool sharpener.
  • Always use the factory bevel (cutting edge angle) as a guide for sharpening tools.
  • Sharpen the tools by making many passes using light pressure against the grinding wheel instead of heavily pressing the tool against the grinding wheel. Light passes will be safer and produce a much sharper edge on the tool. Heavy passes create ragged and rough edges on the tool.
  • Don't sharpen tools that are cracked or bent. Discard any tool that is damaged.
