Electrical safety precautions to follow when using your Delta scroll saw

  • The scroll saw plug must match the receptacle on the electrical wall outlet. Never modify the power saw's power cord plug in any manner. Don't use an adapter plug with an earth grounded power saw.
  • Don't expose the power saw to rain or wet conditions. Water entering the power saw will increase the risk of electric shock.
  • Check the condition of the power cord before using the scroll saw. Repair damaged wires in the power cord or replace the power cord if it's damaged before using the scroll saw.
  • When operating the scroll saw outdoors, use an extension cord rated for outdoor use to prevent the chance of electrical shock.
  • If operating the scroll saw in a damp location or around a water source, use a GCFI protected power supply.

Replacing the blade in your Delta scroll saw

  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Wear work gloves to protect your hands.
  • Remove the table insert. Release blade tension by turning the blade tension knob counterclockwise.
  • Insert the blade change rod through the hold above the blade holder and loosen the hex socket screw on the blade holder. Remove the blade from the upper blade holder.
  • Loosen the lower blade holder hex socket screw and remove the blade.
  • Install the new blade and reassemble the saw.
