Whirlpool Gas ranges

Official Whirlpool gas range parts

Whirlpool makes gas ranges in many different styles and configurations. You're sure to find the type of gas range that fits your kitchen's needs. Whirlpool gas ranges are known for their outstanding cooking performance. When your Whirlpool gas range breaks down, find the replacement parts you need at Sears PartsDirect.

How to replace a Whirlpool gas range spark igniter electrode

  • Shut off gas and electrical power to the range.
  • Remove the grates, burner caps and burner heads.
  • Remove screws that secure the top of the cooktop to the top of the burner orifice holders.
  • Release the mounting clips under the front edges of the cooktop then lift the cooktop off the range and set the cooktop aside.
  • Carefully disconnect the wire that's attached to the bottom of the spark igniter electrode.
  • Release the metal clip from the bottom of the gas burner orifice holder and remove the clip.
  • Remove the spark igniter electrode from the burner orifice holder assembly and discard it.
  • Install the new spark igniter electrode and reassemble the range.
  • Restore the gas supply and electrical power to the range.

Top replacement parts for your Whirlpool gas range

  • Oven temperature sensor probe. The oven temperature sensor probe detects the actual temperature in the oven cavity. Replace it if it's not detecting the temperature properly, in which case the oven doesn't maintain the temperature you set. A complete failure, in which the sensor probe doesn't detect any temperature at all, usually triggers an error code on the electronic oven control board.
  • Electronic oven control board. The electronic oven control (EOC) board governs the timing and execution of oven functions such as baking and broiling. It's usually in the control console and often has a digital clock on the front of its housing. Replace the electronic control board if it doesn't light up when it's supplied with electrical power, if it doesn't operate properly or doesn't properly send current to the oven igniter.
  • Surface burner spark igniter switch. The igniter switch is an electrical switch on the stem of the gas surface burner control valve. This switch completes a circuit to the surface burner spark module, causing the burner igniters to spark when the burner switch is turned to the Lite position. Replace the burner igniter switch if the burners don't spark when you turn the burner control knob to the Lite position or if igniters spark constantly even when the burner knobs are in the Off position.
