How to safely light charcoal in your Sears charcoal grill
Keep children and bystanders away from the grill while lighting and cooking with charcoal.
Have a fire extinguisher handy while lighting charcoal and grilling.
Pile the charcoal briquettes or chunks in a pyramid inside the charcoal grill.
Douse the pile of briquettes or chunks with lighter fluid. Close the cap on the lighter fluid and move the lighter fluid a safe distance away from the grill. Don't use gasoline, kerosene or other flammable liquids as a starter.
Allow the lighter fluid to soak into the charcoal for a few minutes then carefully light the briquettes using a long match or barbeque grill lighter.
