Master broadcast spreader usage tips

  • Determine the size of the area that you'll be fertilizing and estimate the amount of fertilizer required. Make sure that you have enough fertilizer to cover the area.
  • Make sure that the flow control arm is in the off position so the flow control plate is shut before filling the hopper with fertilizer.
  • Fill the hopper with fertilizer. Break up any lumps of fertilizer in the hopper so fertilizer spreads evenly.
  • Set the proper flow rate setting and determine the required speed of application.
  • Start the tractor in motion and open the flow plate to apply the fertilizer.
  • Close the flow plate before stopping the tractor to avoid creating a pile of fertilizer on the turf.

Seeding tips for your Master garden seeder

  • Use the seed plate guide to select the seeding plate that best fits your needs for the seeds that you're spreading.
  • Install the seeding plate on the seeder.
  • Pour seeds into the hopper but don't fill the hopper above the center of seed plate.
  • Set the planting depth with the ground opener located under the hopper.
  • Check the seed depth setting by moving the seeder a few inches in soft soil. Adjust seed depth if necessary.
  • Mark the rows with string and stakes.
