Kenmore Reverse osmosis systems

Official Kenmore reverse osmosis system parts

Kenmore makes reverse osmosis systems that are known for reliability and top performance. Although your Kenmore reverse osmosis system typically works for years without having problems, you can never tell when parts will wear out or break. When that happens, get the replacement parts you need from Sears PartsDirect.

Sanitizing your Kenmore reverse osmosis system system upon installation

  • Be sure that the water supply cut-off valve for the filter is shut off.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly before beginning the sanitation process.
  • Remove all filters from the system before sanitizing the equipment.
  • Remove the filter housing cap and fill the filter housing with water to about 1-inch from the top. Add 1-oz. of liquid chlorine bleach.
  • Replace the filter housing cap.
  • Slowly open the water supply cut-off valve and then open the faucet to flush water through the filter. You should smell the bleach and water solution coming out of the faucet. Once you smell the bleach, shut off the faucet and allow the bleach and water solution to soak for 20 minutes inside the filter housing.
  • After 20 minutes, open the faucet and flush water through the filter until the bleach smell is gone.

Installing a saddle valve for your Kenmore reverse osmosis system

  • Shut off the main water valve for your house and open faucets to bleed off water pressure from the cold water pipes.
  • When attaching the saddle valve to iron pipe, drill a 1/8-inch hole for the valve pin.
  • Connect the needle valve to the pipe.
  • For copper or plastic pipes, carefully turn the valve handle to pierce the pipe. For an iron pipe, turn the valve handle to shut the valve.
