Work area safety guidelines to follow when using your Ingersoll Rand power drill

  • Work in a well-lit area so you can clearly see the work piece and the location of the drill bit.
  • Make sure that your work area is well-ventilated. Don't operate your power drill in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust.
  • Keep children and bystanders away from the work area when operating the power drill. Distractions can cause you to lose control of the power drill.
  • Wear work gloves to protect your hands and eye protection when using the power drill.

Electrical safety precautions to follow when using your Ingersoll Rand power drill

  • The power drill plug must match the receptacle on the electrical wall outlet. Never modify the power drill power cord plug in any manner. Don't use an adapter plug with an earth grounded power drill.
  • Don't expose the power drill to rain or wet conditions. Water entering the power drill will increase the risk of electric shock.
  • Check the condition of the power cord before using the power drill. Repair damaged wires in the power cord or replace the power cord if it's damaged before using the power drill.
  • When operating the power drill outdoors, use an extension cord rated for outdoor use to prevent the chance of electrical shock.
  • If operating the power drill in a damp location or around a water source, use a GCFI protected power supply.
