plastic piece that falls apart in a year or so.

Replaced brittle sockets that crumbled from heat.
Microwave is only 5 years old and both sockets became brittle and were crumbling onto the class cover plate. Once all 7 screws were removed from the lower microwave plate the replacement of the sockets was easy. Remember to fold the metal tab over once the single screw holding the socket is tightened. Take a photo of the wiring prior to removing the old sockets to ensure the new sockets are installed correctly.

Easy to install!
Disappointed that the original part was prematurely defective. The replacement was quite pricey. Hopefully it will last longer than the original.
