Eureka ...It fits! A rarity these days it seems.

Easy to install. Be ready with some type of small pan to catch the residual gas that will pour from the fuel lines once the filter is removed. Then loosen the two clips at either end of the filter and pull the fuel line off the two filter nipples. This may take some effort as they don't remove easily. Be gentile but firm, and that will loosen them without loosening or breaking anything else. When you take the fuel line off from the filter which goes to the gas tank (the other side goes to the carburetor) just point the line up, so that the gas tank will not empty from the removed fuel line. When installing the new filter just pay attention to the direction of the filter when you remove it. The position of the filter should be the same installing it as when you removed it. DO NOT INSTALL IT BACKWARDS!! The rounded portion of the filter should point in the direction of the engine. Reposition your clips and you are locked and loaded. Happy Mowing!!

Wrong parts all the way around, 2nd time!

I needed a spark plug cap for my lawnmower, bought at Sears. I had the make and model number. Good salesman talked me into buying oil filter and air filter, for the same postage ($10, quite high for light-weight small objects), so I thought what the heck, I could have the repairman give me a total tune up. Turns out 1) the plug was made for a completely different make of lawnmower clearly stated on the package; 2) My make and model doesn't even have an oil filter, 3) of course the air filter was for a different lawnmower. I didn't realize this until the repairman came, whom I had to pay of course, so that was money down the tubes. Sears did give me a full refund on my purchase, including postage, but no reimbursement for the repair man who couldn't repair but got paid for showing up. Last time I ordered a part from this vendor they sent the wrong cable. I should have known!

Exact replacement, Squeeze the hose clamps with a pair of pliers and the old one came right off. the new one slipped right on in its place. Easy-peasy!

Direct Repacement

Direct replace of OEM filter. Loosen the fuel hose clamps and just swap out the old filter for the new. Keep in mind the fuel flow direction on the old filter. A little messy, have some paper towels handy, but easy.

Which direction does the go?

Fuel filter replacement maintenance part number 33392, available for more than ten years, currently replaced with fuel filter part number 394358S, 33392 at least had a diagram on the back of the package which clearly showed the filter orientation in-line between the carburetor and the fuel tank - 394358S has nothing to help with this and you can easily put it in backward.
