Fixed a long time gas leak!
December 20, 2020|Dean, Aurora, CO

This dual oven has this double duty gas valve that controls the gas flow for the top oven. It has two outputs one goes down to the main burner and the other goes up to the the broiler burner which in this case was stuck open a little and allowed a small amount of gas to leak into the top oven all the time. Replacing this gas valve fixed the problem. Easy to replace. 1. Turn off gas and unplug power cord. 2. Remove the back panel. 3. Remove the two output lines with 9/16" wrench. 4. Remove the 1/4" nut from the input end. 5. The valve will now come out. 6. Unscrew the connector from the input. 7. Re-apply yellow pipe thread sealant to connector and re-intall it to new valve. 8. The valve is now ready to go back in. 9. Re-install the 1/4" nut into input end. 10. Re-install the output lines. 11. Turn gas back on and check for leaks. 12. Plug back in, test, check for gas leaks. 13. Re-install back panel. 14. Project is complete!
