Removing the rear freezer panel is the hardest part. Once the panel is carefully removed the ice fan assembly is straight forward.

Took me about an hour, but this was the first time I ever did that kind of work on a freezer. Took the trays out, removed the front door (one screw on each side), but left the sliders and shelf mounts on the side walls of the freezer. A little bit of work getting the first corner of the back wall to pop loose with a flat putty knife. 3 clips for wiring the two motors and some sensor. Make note of which goes where, but in the end it doesn't matter much since they are 3 different shapes and only can get reattached one way. Removing and replacing the motor/fan assembly was pretty easy. Had a little ice to break loose to get the edges to let go. Reassembly basically just the reverse. The only challenge was getting the wiring clips reattached. Not a lot of space to work with when you're trying to hold the back panel up to get the wires close enough and trying to get a hand over the top edge of the back panel. I enlisted my son's help on this part. I held the panel, he clipped in the wires. The extra hands at this point really helped. And it seems to be working. Been about 4 days. No more error codes on the front panel, and the ice maker is making ice.

Installation went pretty smoothly. Had to take blow dryer to coil to thaw built up ice. That took most of the time.
