Reviews
This was not the product I requested
I have two problems:If you review my chat conversation, you will see that I requested right and left refrigerator door gaskets. I was sent one of those and a freezer gasket. Bad service!

Thinner than originals they replaced; don't seal
These are thinner than they originals they replaced and do not seal the fridge. You can feel cool air leaking out and fridge temp will not hold. Had to throw away a bunch of food after installation. Very frustrating.

Works fine but installation is frustrating, tough.
These gaskets work fine, but are very difficult to install and could be made much easier. A YouTube video that was helpful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUD70gbW8vU And the most important tips: ' Soak the new gasket in very hot water for ~10m to ensure it is pliable. ' If the gasket cools such that it's no longer pliable while working, use a hair dryer to warm it up. ' Dry fully with a towel. ' Apply a very thin coating of petroleum jelly to the lip that locks into the door frame to create a tighter air seal. ' Lightly set the gasket into the door frame and pull outward on it to allow air to flow into the interior of the gasket. ' Close the refrigerator door. You will notice a ~1/4" gap between the door and the refrigerator. Sealing this gap is the remainder of the challenge. ' Using a wide (~5-6") plastic putty knife, work around the edges of the gasket to press them against the frame of the refrigerator. Note the inner and outer ridge of the gasket and ensure you're applying light pressure to the outer ridge which is designed to flex and reach the fridge. ' If it cannot reach or is too tight, open the door again and pull lightly on the gasket to allow air to flow in. If it feels like a vacuum is preventing expansion, pull it out of the frame lightly and continue repeating until you're able to make a seal. ' Ensure you apply this process along the top of the refrigerator and along the base of the door as well, opening the pull-out freezer drawer to create workspace and provide an opportunity to inspect. ' Check back in an hour or so to ensure that the seal remains intact. If you see condensation or the refrigerator runs constantly/is unable to maintain temperature, it is likely the seal is incomplete. Installing these is miserable and GE could have made this so much easier. Good luck!

perfect fit - easy to install
I received two gaskets for both of the french doors. I laid them in the sun for half an hour to soften them up as recommended. The old ones came out very easy and the new ones went in very quickly. They did not seal completely at first. I ended up using a hair dryer to soften the rubber a little more and used a wide putty knife to get the gasket to expand and attach to the refrigerator itself. I left the doors closed for about an hour and everything seems to be working as desired.

Does not seal properly
Installing the gasket, per instructions in the email from Sears parts Direct, and similar YouTube videos describing how to install the gasket, proved easy enough as described. However, the door is apparently not sealing properly. Overnight, there was frost inside the refrigerator. Also, while the door closes OK, it does not feel as if the door is being pulled the refrigerator frame, and there's not "pull back" when you open the door. I reinstalled the old gasket, and it works fine (I'm replacing it because the additional rubber strip on the side where the doors meet is coming loose. I again tried to install the new gasket, and the same issues are there. I spoke with a Sears Parts Direct rep, and he said it's likely a defective part; I'm wondering if it's the actual part needed, or if the low-power magnetic strips in the gasket are missing. He's sending another part (C513003) and I'm returning the old one via RMA tomorrow. Please feel free to contact me @ 301-518-8034 if you have questions. Thank you.

Refrigerator door gasket
Very easy to install. Directions and video on utube were helpful. Soaking gasket in warm water for several minutes made it more pliable and easy to install.

plastic very wrinkled and too big for door
We watched every video online and read all directions. The gasket seems too large for the door by about an inch and is coming off all the time. I'm hoping you will send us a new one.
