Generic Replacement Range Element
The installation video as contained in your follow up email was very helpful. This range element you sent was not an OEM part but rather was a somewhat "generic" replacement part that fits (more or less) a variety of ranges from various manufacturers. The wiring locations on the "generic" replacement were in different locations that on the OEM part installed in the range. The identification number of the terminals was embossed in the ceramic terminal blocks in very tiny numbers/letters which werfe very hard to see. Two the 5 terminals on the OEM part were not numbered at all and so I had to guess. I do not like having to guess with 240 volt equipment. The existing wiring was too short to reach some of the new locations on the generic part. The only way I was able to use the generic replacement element you sent was to rotate it about 2 inches clockwise compared to the OEM element installation location. It seems to work but I am especially concerned with 240 volt equipment about having over-stressing some other wiring parts that I could not see.

High/Low Burner Install
This unit is not a direct replacement for the burner that was in our Kenmore oven originally. The burner now sits in an offset position on the oven top. Wiring went from a 7 pin connection to a 5 pin connection on the new burner. There was no literature in the package to help with how this needed to be rewired. Being an electrical engineer I was able to figure it out, but typically someone would have been in trouble to make this work.
