Was noisey and out of balance
This was to be the third motor for this dryer (I'm a cheap DIY'er). I was replacing it because like the original motor, the second motor had started making a ton of bearing noise. The second motor quieted everything down and has been working fine for about two years. This one made just as much noise as the bad one as soon as we put it in. I returned it - cudos to Sears Parts Direct for easy, fast returns.

Fairly easy to install
I took time to do it right. Needed a good socket to unscrew the fan from the motor shaft. I spent a total of about 2 hours doing this including cleaning all the 14 years of lint dust from the dryer, but everything was straight forward to accomplish.

R/R Dryer Drive Motor
Pretty straight forward. Never had to tackle a dryer repair before but I would consider myself above an every day diyer. Just remember when removing the fan that it is left hand threads. I also had to put some blue loctite on the fan when I reinstalled because it wanted to continuously spin off. After that all fine. Other recommendation is pull the drum out. It will save you a lot of frustration.
