Refrigerator ice cube assembly
I placed the order for a replacement ice cube assembly for my Kenmore refrigerator. I was given a delivery date of approximately 10 days. To my surprise, it arrived the second day after order. It was a simple installation with the removal of one screw and one electrical lead connection. The frig is making ice again.

Direct replacement
Exactly the right part, direct replacement and it works like it is supposed to. The price seemed high though but shipping was quick.

Works like new
Ice maker installs with one screw and one electrical connector. Now it makes ice as if the fridge was new.

Condition of ice cube tray is critical
The ice-maker unit is kept in place with one screw near the on/off switch. Two slip-on anchors in the top of the freezer compartment secure the unit. The old unit failed due to crud in the ice tray which prevented ice cubes from releasing properly. There is a test switch on the bottom-facing surface at the right side of the ice-maker. The test switch is useful to assess the how well the unit is working, especially as relates to releasing the ice cubes. Cleaning the tray with vinegar and treating it with vegetable oil helped a lot, but for long-term reliability it seemed best to get a new unit. The part number endind in "G" has a 1x10 pin connector; the part ending in "H" has a 2x5 pin connector. When I got the wrong part, Sears was very helpful in exchanging the part for the correct one.

Easy to replace, but you have to do that often.
The installation was quite easy, just plug it in and go. However, nothing told me the handy test button was on the bottom. Thankfully one of the YouTube videos did, I pushed it, and we were good to go! This is my 4th or 5th icemaker in this freezer. I've never gone through so many so fast. The ice cube tray gets warped quickly, within two to three years, and it drips the water, and my freezer is a mess with frozen water overflow. Definitely not a long term icemaker. The saving grace is that, admittedly it IS easy to replace.

It was easy and hopefully this one will last longer. We got 5 years out of it.
