Exact Replacement
I previously had a "flap door" in the ice crusher fail (broken at the hinge) and purchased the individual parts. It was a considerable effort to disassemble and reassemble the ice "tray" with dispenser/crusher. A new problem developed where the auger lost it's connection to the crusher assembly -- and facing a complex disassembly-re-assembly, I elected to purchase a completely new "ice tray" assembly -- and the "repair" was quite simple -- pull out the broken unit, slide in the new unit (after washing it in warm soapy water). Less than 30 seconds to have a working ice tray again. (And it wasn't that much more expensive than the many parts I'd have had to obtain to repair the old unit.) Perhaps I'll get another two or three years out of this one. CAUTION: when ordering, be sure to note if you have a "standard" or "cabinet depth" refrigerator. I have a "cabinet depth" model and had mistakenly purchased a "standard" ice tray assembly. The "standard" model is about 1-1/2 to 2 inches longer, and you can't close the freezer compartment door!
