Reviews
Not quite right
The float provided in this kit which was listed to fit this particular model snowblower did not fit. the flange that the pin goes through was slightly too wide to fit between the posts. I could have ground it down to fit but the old float was still good so used it instead. All othe parts fit correctly. Easy to install after watching YouTube videos. Snowblower started on first try after reassembly.

Craftsman 24 in. Snow Thrower Model 247.889571
Used Carburetor Kit-substitution 951-12712 instead of Part No. 951-11020A from Sears. Had to use original white plastic float instead or new float because new float was tight in carburetor bowl. No gaskets came with carb. kit, except the bowl gasket. Reinstall carburetor in snow thrower and put all parts back together and started snow thrower on first pull. Unit runs rough, but will work.

Float did not fit.
The original float uses an integral plastic tab for the hinge portion. This tab fits between two cast metal 'horns' on the carb and is held in place by a metal hinge pin. The supplied float uses a metal tab instead, however it was too wide (by a mm or two) to fit between the horns. As such, it was not a suitable substitute for the original part, and did not correct the problem.

Irrelevant parts
These carbs are not rebuildable since the gasoline corroded the one year old carburetor.

Wrong part
I paid 40.00 for this part and what a joke. Spent the time taking the carburetor apart only to find out they were the wrong parts! Float wouldn't fit and the needle valve was way to short. No new gaskets for the rebuild. I suppose sears wanted 40.00 more for the gaskets This is the second time you did this to me and it's the last.

Not exaclly the same parts
How the needle fit in the float was not the same as the original equipment. While the provided parts probably would have worked, no instructions were provided how to assemble the very tiny, but complex and essential parts. Decided to re-install the original float and needle since they seemed to be in good shape.
