Proper part for the proper mower and quick service
We had picked up a Craftsman riding mower for free off the facebook. We brought it home, it was obviousl that the fellow who owned it didn't know what he was doing when he tried to fix it. Electrical issues. here is the list. Fuse blown and was a 20 amp instead of a 30 amp. Replaced the fuse. Solenoid went bad, checked and replaced it with a generic one with out problems. Ignition switch - burnt out plug from the previous owner who wired it wrong and shorted it out. Needed to buy the right switch, sears, you guys were the most reasonable and had the right part. Two tires and a battery later. We got the part in 3 days when we ordered it on a Saturday. Elated to have the right switch, put it in and the mower fired right up. Comparable ones are 1,500$ easy. It works great and without issues, switch easy to install repeatedly, and as far at the mower goes the Schematics in the manual, perfect, easy to read and very helpful. . Thanks for making our life easier. Joe and Chris

Replacement for failed switch
This was quite easily the quickest replacement part fix that I have gotten from Sears. I was disappointed that the original switch only lasted 34 years.

Available
Main thing was AVAILABLE. Solinoid was the culprit but switch was corroded after 38 years of service. Good instructions easy out with old , easy replacement.

Mistake in catologue
The catalogue is wrong! The key switch I bought does not replace the old one. Found the right one on Amazon. H

Old Craftsman Lawn Tractor Still Going Strong
This ignition switch was an exact replacement for my 12HP Craftsman II Hydro 38 lawn tractor which was manufactured in 1989. Easy plug-in repair and reasonably priced. This machine just won't quit and the continued availability of parts from Sears is the main reason for its long life.
