It was out of round and it took a lot of effort to get it to fit in the opening.

Poorly packaged.
The heater was shipped with inadequate packing material and arrived in a crushed box barely larger than the heater itself. Took quite a while to restore the shape of the unit so that it could be used. A little extra care would have gone a long way.
