The knob hole was too small to fit over the bar. Verified part number marched knob to be replaced.

correct part came quickly but....
The range knobs were the correct part and came quickly but were crazy expensive. $40 each for a very simple knob is just nuts. The replacement knob is improved over the original design with a metal insert but with 5 identical knobs for this range it shouldn't more than $15 each.
