Easy to install, easier with an extra set of hands
The switch was pretty easy to install. It would be much easier to install if the cooktop was not so cumbersome. I did it myself, but it would have been a lot easier to install with someone else to help manage the bulk of the cooktop and its attached downdraft fan. But basically it involved removing the 12 screws around the base of the cooktop to separate the surface from the enclosure. Then I had to remove four screws to separate the control panel enclosure from the main enclosure. Then I had access to the two screws to remove the switch. The switch has two connectors that are easy to unplug and plug back in without any tools. Then I reversed the process to replace the two screws on the switch, the four screws for the control panel, tidy up the wiring, and replace the 12 screws around the base of the enclosure. It all took about 45 minutes plus a little time for cleanup. This is the second switch I have replaced on this cooktop, so that helped the process as well.
