Replace the range power cord

The range power cord as well as other stove repair parts can fail if there is an internal break in the wiring. If there is an internal break in the wiring, the cord must be replaced. Check the outlet for the appropriate voltage before replacing the cord.

Reset or replace the range thermal fuse

The range thermal fuse can trip when the temperature gets too hot. After it trips, the fuse doesn't heat. First, try resetting the fuse by shutting off electricity to the range, removing the exterior back panel, and pushing the reset button. If this does not work, the fuse needs to be replaced. The use of quality range parts can help prevent this issue.

Replace the range relay control board

A gas and electric range DIY repair help tip is to replace the range relay control board. The relay board controls the voltage that is transported to the baking and surface elements. If the board fails to send the correct voltage to the cooking components, it needs to be replaced. Be sure to turn off the power and gas before replacing the board.
