Common Florida Pneumatic air compressor repair parts

  • Check valve. The check valve prevents tank air from back flowing to the pump. A failed check valve will apply high air pressure to the head of the pump preventing the motor from restarting once the tank has filled. If the motor starts when the tank is empty of air but won't restart when the tank is full, replace the check valve.
  • Safety valve. The safety valve pops open to relieve excessive air pressure if the pressure switch fails to shut off the air compressor at the cut-out pressure setting. Replace the safety valve if it leaks or pops open at normal operating pressure.
  • Air tank. Don't try to fix a leaking air compressor tank. Replace the tank if it leaks air.
  • Motor. The motor drives the piston or pistons that compress the air in the pump. Replace the motor if it doesn't run when it gets electrical current and the air tank is empty.

Florida Pneumatic air compressor safety tips

  • Always wear a safety mask or respirator when using air tools or compressed air for cleaning.
  • Work in a clean, dry, well-ventilated area.
  • Never directly inhale compressed air. It isn't suitable for breathing.
  • Don't leave air tools unattended with the air hose attached.
  • Don't use inflator nozzles for dusting and cleaning.
  • Check conditions of hoses and fasteners before each use. Replace the air hose if damaged. Tighten any loose fasteners before using the air compressor.
