  • Air filter. The engine air filter cleans the air entering the carburetor.
  • Anti-kickback pawl. The anti-kickback pawl protects the operator by helping prevent kickback as the chain cuts through the wood.
  • Bar and chain. The bar and chain cuts through branches as the chain rotates around the bar.
  • Bar and chain oil. Bar and chain oil lubricates the cutting chain while in use.

How to sharpen the chain on your Husqvarna gas chainsaw

  • Wear work gloves to protect your hands.
  • Disconnect the spark plug wire from the spark plug.
  • Check the chain for proper tension. Adjust the chain tension if necessary.
  • Position the sharpening file holder level at 90-degrees to it rests on the top edges of the cutter and depth gauge.
  • Align the 30-degree file hold marks parallel with the bar and to the center of the chain.
  • Sharpen the cutters on one side of the chain. File from the inside of each cutter to the outside edge.
  • Turn the chainsaw around the sharpen the cutters on the other side of the chain.
  • Reconnect the spark plug wire to the spark plug.
