How to choose the blade to use when cutting work pieces with your Tradesman scroll saw

  • Use a fine tooth blade for cutting thin work pieces such as wood veneer and thin plastics. You'll also use a fine tooth blade when you need a smooth cut on hard materials or when cutting a slow speeds.
  • Use a coarse tooth blade for cutting thick work pieces, when making straight cuts and when cutting at fast speeds.
  • Use a thin, narrow blade for tight radium work.
  • Use a thick blade for large curves and straight cuts.

How to replace the carbon motor brushes on your Tradesman scroll saw

  • Unplug the scroll saw’s power cord from the wall outlet. Wear work gloves to protect your hands.
  • Use a slot screwdriver to unscrew the brush caps and then pull out the motor brushes.
  • Insert the new carbon brushes into the motor and reinstall the brush caps.
  • Plug the scroll saw into the electrical outlet and test motor operation.
