Viking Range Range hoods

Official Viking Range range hood parts

Viking range hoods are known for dependability and top performance. Components and designs used in Viking range hoods help exhaust smoke and cooking odors quickly from your kitchen. When your range hood stops working, get the Viking vent hood parts you need to fix the range hood from Sears PartsDirect.

Most common Viking range hood parts that need replacing

  1. Control panel. The control panel is mounted on the front of the range hood. Selection switches or the user interface control board are fastened to the control panel. Display indicators are also mounted on the control panel.
  2. Charcoal filter. The charcoal filter is used when exhaust air is recirculated into the kitchen instead of being exhausted outside the home. The charcoal filter removes odors from the recirculated air.
  3. Grease filter. The grease filter is an aluminum mesh filter that traps grease that’s suspended in the exhaust air. The grease filter is mounted on the bottom of the range hood just under the exhaust fan.
  4. Light socket. The light socket houses a light bulb that illuminates the cooktop under the range hood. The light socket is mounted on the underside of the range hood.
  5. Light switch. The light switch activates the light bulbs under the range hood. The light switch is mounted on the control panel of the range hood.

How to fix your Viking range hood when its exhaust fan is noisy

Loose screws, a bad fan motor or a damaged fan blade can cause loud fan noises on a range hood. First, tighten any loose installation screws that hold the range hood to the wall and cabinet. Check the fan mounting screws and tighten any loose screws.

Check the fan blade for damage. Replace the fan blade if it's broken or damaged. Worn bearings in the fan motor can make a loud squealing or whining noise and the fan motor typically gets extremely hot when motor bearings are bad. Replace the fan motor if it squeals or whines and gets extremely hot to the touch while running.
