Balancing the cutting blade on your Poulan electric walk-behind lawn mower

  • Check the balance of the mower cutting blade after sharpening the blade. Replace the blade if it's damaged and can't be balanced.
  • Clamp a nail or screwdriver with a round shank horizontally in a vice so the nail or screwdriver will support the weight of the blade.
  • Place the center hold of the cutting blade over the nail or screwdriver's round shank.
  • If either end of the blade rotates downward, file that end of the blade and recheck the balance.
  • Continue to file the blade end until the blade rests horizontally and the end doesn't rotate downward.

Safety precautions for your Poulan electric walk-behind lawn mower

  • Read and follow all assembly instructions in the owner's manual before operating the mower. Make sure all fasteners are tight before using the mower for the first time.
  • To avoid the risk of serious injury to bystanders, keep all persons and pets as a safe distance from the mower while using it.
  • The rotating mower blade can cause serious injury. Always keep hands and feet away from the mower deck and discharge chute opening when operating the mower. Always make sure that the mower blade has stopped moving before removing the grass catcher, cleaning servicing, lifting or transporting the mower.
  • Objects struck by the mower blade can cause serious injury. Stay behind the mower handle when operating the mower. Inspect the mower area before mowing and remove any objects that can be hit and thrown by the mower blade.
