Troubleshooting your Noma electric snowblower when it won't throw snow far enough
If your snowblower isn't clearing pavement well, first turn off the snowblower and clear any snow that's built up in the chute. A clogged chute won't throw snow very far.
If the discharge chute isn't clogged, check the augers and auger drive system. A damaged auger blade can't push snow through the shoot, and broken shear pins keep sections of the auger from spinning.
A weak drive motor may lack the power to throw snow through the chute. Replace the drive motor if it isn't running properly
Replacing a broken shear pin in your Noma electric snowblower
- Unplug the snowblower power cord to disconnect electrical power.
- Wear work gloves to protect your hands.
- Remove the broken shear pin, using a hammer and nail to completely clear the hole of any pieces.
- Realign the holes in the auger and the shaft. Insert the new shear pin and secure it with the bow tie pin.
