Mounting the Jacobsen grass catcher attachment to the lawn tractor

  • Raise the seat on the lawn tractor to access the mounting location.
  • With the grass catcher cover closed, lift the grass catcher assembly and place the support post inside the mounting bracket. Allow the grass cater assembly to rest on lanced tabs of the mounting bracket.
  • Line up the holes in the mounting bracket with holes in the support post and insert the bracket support pin. Secure the support pin with the retainer spring.
  • Unlatch and open the grass catcher cover. Install the tubing end caps onto the container support. Tap each end cap on to the container support to seat them securely.

Using plastic trash bags to ease debris disposal on your Jacobsen grass catcher attachment

  • Heavy duty plastic trash bags can be inserter inside grass catcher containers for easier debris removal and disposal.
  • To remove the plastic trash bags, raise the riding mower or lawn tractor seat. Unlatch and raise the grass catcher attachment cover.
  • Remove one container at a time by grasping the container handles and pulling the container backward off the tube rails.
  • With the container resting on the ground, close and secure the top of the plastic trash bag.
  • Tip the container on its side and slide the filled plastic trash bag out of the container.
  • Tilt the container upright and install a new plastic trash bag.
  • Repeat the process for the other container(s).
  • Reinstall the containers on the riding mower or lawn tractor. Close and latch the cover.
