Clear away lint
Tappan dryers lint traps keep much of the lint from entering the exhaust hose, but smaller particles can still get through. Clean the lint traps and exhaust hose regularly to help ensure efficient operation of your dryer. Modern dryers circulate air for greater efficiency, and anything that blocks this circulation slows the drying process.
Repairs when a dryer won't heat
If your dryer doesn't get hot enough to dry the load, you might need to replace the thermostat, which monitors the air temperature, or the dryer heating element, which delivers the heat used to dry clothes.
Replace the timer
Dryers have a timer that controls how long the cycle runs. If the timer fails, the dryer may no longer run for the selected amount of time. Replacing the timer can help fix these issues.
